On this second Sunday of Advent, we are going to have our concept of greatness challenged by Jesus. The metaphor we will use will be a simple, ordinary writing utensil, a pen. If we think of ourselves as humble pens, we will be able to be used greatly by God to inscribe a beautiful message in ourselves and the lives of others. And if we are pens held in the hand of God, as Richard Baxter put it, then what credit is due a pen? Join me today as we redefine greatness so that we can truly pursue it for the glory of God and good of others.
