Today I'm introducing one of this year's main themes for the podcast: Christian Virtue. I'm also sharing how this year got off to a rocky start, but I'm hoping to get back into a good "podcast recording rhythm" from here on. Thanks for stopping by.
Happy New Year! Get your year off on the right foot with today’s Sunday morning devotion. May it help you rest in the Lord and reset your heart and mind for today and this week.
What does it mean to call Jesus the "Alpha and Omega?" And why does it matter? It's far more important than we many may think. That's what we're going to look at in today's episode. Thanks for joining me today.
On this second Sunday of Advent, we are going to have our concept of greatness challenged by Jesus. The metaphor we will use will be a simple, ordinary writing utensil, a pen. If we think of ourselves as humble pens, we will be able to be used greatly by God to inscribe a beautiful message in ourselves and the lives of others. And if we are pens held in the hand of God, as Richard Baxter put it, then what credit is due a pen? Join me today as we redefine greatness so that we can truly pursue it for the glory of God and good of others.
What do you want with Jesus? Why are you following him? What do you want from him? Those are some questions he asked his first disciples and continues asking us today. Join me as we think about some of these things together. You can read the whole devotion at
Slowly but surely we're getting into a good rhythm to celebrate this Advent Season. I hope this episode on preparing our hearts will help you do just that... prepare for the celebration of our Lord's birth as well as his return. Today I didn't share much from the actual devotion, so please check it out at
Today is the beginning of Advent Season. Join me as we travel through this season reflecting on our Lord's first advent and how we are called to live in light of it as well as how our we must live in continual preparation for his second advent.
To grow strong, high, and flourish your roots have to go deep. When we're rooted and built up in Christ, we're able to bear much good and lasting fruit for Christ and his Kingdom. How do we get to that point? That's what we'll be talking about today. Thanks for joining me for this episode.
Get your day and week off on the right foot by spending some time with God. Each week on the "reset" I try to give you some principles to reflect upon, next steps to put into practice, and a little encouragement along the way to help you grow closer with God and faithfully follow Christ in every sphere of your life. You can find a written version by visiting daletedder.com.
How does God help us grow, mature, and become the men and women he created, redeemed, and called us to be? One way is: "trials of many kinds." But what does that mean? What do those trials look like? How can we persevere? Those are some of the things we'll be reflecting on together in this episode. Thanks for stopping by.
