What Jason is trying to teach his kids:

1. Be teachable. 1 Peter 5:5 - “Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders.” Cultivate curiosity. Allow/encourage failure in the small things.

These are great attributes that should be a part of your life. If you didn’t have an older man mentor you and show you how to live out these concepts, you can start these on your own…and pass them along to your sons and daughters!

Learn the lesson of internal/external pressure from the submarine. As long as what is on the inside is more “powerful” than the pressure from the outside, you’ll be safe.
