We can sometimes live by platitudes that we hope to be true but aren't, such as we can have deep compassion for others while not having compassion for ourselves.
Compassion is a recognition of our common humanity and that each of our stories is made of strength and struggle. And I depth of compassion and honor of our own stories of strength and struggle are the very elements that connect us with others.
This week we will talk about what it means to to learn the practice of compassion for ourselves so that we might care for others more deeply.
