On this topic-centered episode, I focus specifically on internship tips - sharing with the listeners both guidance from my previous experiences, as well as guidance from the perspective of several other pragmatic millennials.

In this episode, you will hear from Katie Herman, an "almost-30-year-old" originally from Mullica Hill, NJ. After attending Iona College, she jumped into the Media world, prior to entering the Technology Education space. Since 2017, she has been a Senior Engagement Manager at General Assembly.

During this episode, Katie will share her advice on leveraging her network to make career transitions, including specific lessons she's learned along her career path. Along with career advice, Katie will also discuss her lifelong interest in health, nutrition and fitness and touch upon her recent decision to become a Certified Integrative Health Coach as well as her journey through Yoga Teacher Training.

In this episode, you will hear from Chris Jenkins, a 25 year-old Engagement Manager at General Assembly. Originally from Chestnut Ridge, NY,  Chris obtained his degree at Cornell and immediately pursued a career at EY in Financial Services Consulting upon graduation.

 Three years later, he decided to transition into a role at a General Assembly, an ed-tech firm based out of NYC.  During this episode, Chris will elaborate on the lessons he learned from his recruitment experiences, why he decided to transition from Consulting, and the story behind creating the Pragmatic Millennial Podcast.

In this episode, you will hear from Lauren Pey, a 25 year-old originally from San Francisco, CA. After attending Cornell as an Applied Economics & Management (AEM) major, she went to work in Consulting. After three years, she left Consulting to become a mobile product manager. 

During this episode, Lauren will share the story of how she started out her career seeking a role in management consulting and  “accidentally” joined the highly-coveted world of product management. She’ll elaborate candidly on her job search and recruitment experience, including lessons she learned during that process, as well as provide useful tips for anyone looking to make the jump into product management.

In this episode, you will hear from Amber Burton, a 25 year-old originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. After attending Wake Forest University, she immediately went to pursue her masters at Columbia’s Journalism school. Since 2017, she has been an Audience Development Associate for the Wall Street Journal.

During this episode, Amber will share her advice for pursuing a career in media/journalism, including lessons she learning during her grad school experience as well as years of recruiting for roles and internships in the industry. Along with career advice, Amber will also discuss her lifelong interest in journalism and touch upon three of the articles she has published within the Wall Street Journal.

Katie Pietrantoni is a 26 year old from Los Angeles, CA. After getting her degree in Public Relations at Pepperdine University, she went directly into Viacom working on their advertising campaigns team. Two years later, she transitioned into a role at NBCU as a Digital Media Sales Planner in LA then eventually their NYC office. During this episode you will learn her advice on how to be successful within a sales role, why you should always be open to new opportunities, and how she lives out her team values by being a hunter in a world that’s split between the hunters and the gatherers.

In this episode, you will hear from Ethan Arnowitz, a 25 year-old virtual reality user experience designer for Microsoft. Originally from Long Island, NY - Ethan obtained both his BS and MS in Design and Environmental Analyisis at Cornell University.

During this episode, Ethan will elaborate on the lessons he learned from his experiences, why he decided to pursue his masters directly after his undergrad degree, and the benefits and drawbacks of recruiting within the very niche virtual reality industry.

In this episode, you will hear from Taylor Clark, a 26 year-old originally from Westchester, NY. After majoring in Psychology and Marketing at Wash U, she worked for several years in NYC. After three years in the workforce, she decided to pursue a Masters in Real Estate Development at Columbia University.

During this episode, Taylor will share the story of how she started out her career in market research and spent two years in consulting prior to finding her calling in the real estate industry. Outside of work/school, Taylor also serves as co-chair of the junior board in support of Vibrant Emotional Health, a NYC based nonprofit. She’ll elaborate on her self-discovery process, lessons she learned from all of her experiences, as well as provide useful tips for anyone looking to return to school.

In this episode, you will hear from Evan Rusinowitz, a 25 year old originally from Long Island NY. After attending Cornell's school of Human Ecology as a Design and Environmental Analysis (DEA) major, he went to work at Guardian Life Insurance company within their facilities department. After two years, he left Guardian to join Ted Moudis Associates, as a workplace strategist.

During this episode, Evan will go into detail on tips for navigating through the recruitment/interview process, specifically what he found useful in propelling his shift from an in-house role at an insurance firm to an external consulting role at an architecture/interior design firm.  

Victoria David is a 25 year old from the country of Trinidad and Tobago. After graduating from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Cornell, she entered into the HR Leadership Development Program at Diageo, a multinational alcoholic beverages company in Norwalk CT. After 2 years in that function, she made an internal shift to join the Marketing organization within their NYC office. During this episode you will hear her advice for navigating the politics of making an internal transfer, how she decided that marketing was more of a fit for her long term goals.
