PRAISE 106.5, and Sam here. There's something so powerful about words. God said it. We live it every day, where if you say the right words, it almost could heal someone's heart, and now you get to do that.What would that be like if someone who just got diagnosed with breast cancer, you don't know this person at all, but you could write them a letter and just ask, "Holy Spirit, what do you want me to say to this person?"...and then pour it out.

One of the women who got a letter like this says that she keeps it on her bedstand and she reads it every night to gain strength. And she said it also gives her a reminder that there's kindness in this world. It's called Girls Love Mail. It's a chance for us to write letters to strangers who've just gotten diagnosed with breast cancer and let God do what he does through us.

Here's another, somebody needs to hear this. Maybe it's you kind of moment. Maybe it's... You are not disgusting to God. You're not. A lot of people struggle with that. But look at Jesus. He's never repelled by someone immoral behavior ever. Past, present... he's not.

Brant:Okay. I got a little, wrote a song here. It's about that dog that lunged at my head and I said I was sorry.Sherri:Oh, so you wrote a song about it?Brant:Just walking down sidewalk and then it lunged at my head. Had the big, big, dog. Lady had it on a leash, but she's like pulling it back as it was growling. Huge dog. Okay. With a big muzzle on it. AndSherri:You said, sorry, when it lunged?Brant:Right. And I'm like, yeah. I was like, oh, I'm sorry. Even though I'm on a sidewalk like, well I didn't do anything wrong, but it's the same way. Okay.Sherri:But it inspired a song. ItBrant:Inspired a song. Yeah. It's called, I'm sorry, your dog lunged at my head.Sherri:Okay. It's right there in the title, isn't it? Okay.Brant:Surely won't do anything other than, pretty much.So the rest of this is a waste of time.Sherri:I going to say we really have a picture don't we?Brant:I was, don't know if I have the melody, don't you? Okay.[Brant singing] Walking on the sidewalk, and then you and your dog turned the corner. And then your dog lunged it at my head, that's when I turned and said, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I, I'm sorry I made your dog mad. I'm sorry. It snarled and lunged for my head. It makes total sense because who did I think I was? I'm sorry for walking on the sidewalk.Sherri:Wow. Had a, it had a real Beatles thing there actually.Brant:It really did. Yeah. Yeah. I feel it. I did too, as it developed. Yeah.

Little reminder for you. Just something to think about here. You already know this, but it's going to be reminded... you think, oh, there's 8 billion people in the world. Sure. How does God have time for everybody? He has time for everybody because he's not subject to time. He's outside of it. He's not in a hurry. We're in a hurry. He's not. He's got all the time in the world for you. How awesome is that? Don't miss out on this opportunity. He's not like, oh, I don't care about this person. No, no, no. He can handle all of it, but literally right now, he's got as much time as you want. How about that?

Brant:Saw this on the internet. There's been a lot of archeology news lately, so I don't know why. But anyway, I was just reading it said Pharaohs were mummified with their hands crossed over their chest...
Sherri:Yes...
Brant:because the ancient Egyptians believed there would be countless water slides in the afterlife.
Sherri: [laughter] Well done.
Brant:I don't think so. I got to throw up the flag. I just don't think it's true.
Sherri: [Uncontrolled laughter]

Brant:You are welcome here. Whether you are a Christian self-described or not, or an atheist, agnostic, whatever. We're just glad to have you be a part of things. We do talk a lot about Jesus. We think he's it. And he's incredibly compelling. He told us not to worry about stuff. So, what is it you think your worry comes from?Sherri:My worry and anxiety. I've been wrestling with this a lot lately, comes from, and I had to get to the bottom of it, is my lack of control. I'm not controlling it and that's worrying me. For me. Whatever it is and the things that my it. It's the fact that I can't control the outcome of something, and that's where the source of my anxiety's coming. And I really had to battle with that because then that means at the core, man, it's so hard to say, I don't trust God enough, for me.Brant:I think a whole lot of people feel that way.Sherri:It's hard to say.Brant:I think that is so common. It is true. I'm glad you said that because it is about trusting God. Like, do you actually think that he'll do a better job than you will of controlling, and I've heard that said about worry, that worry is effectively saying, I don't trust God to do what I know is the right thing.Sherri:Yeah. I have a list and he's not... I don't know that he's going to follow it.Brant:It's true. I know how this is supposed to go and I don't think, God, I just don't trust him to do it. Right. I know how it's supposed to go. He may not do it. Instead of thinking maybe he's got the bigger picture. I appreciate you being honest. I think everybody can relate to that.

Brant: I think you'll understand this. If you're married, IKEA is set up, it's designed to cause marital arguments.

Sherri: Not married. So can you explain, I love Ikea.

Brant: Yes. You've been, okay...

Sherri: Okay, explain to me why.

Brant: Well imagine going through with a really good friend, but you share a bank account. Okay. Okay. So hey.

Sherri: Oh, wait a minute. Really? I get it.

Brant: Right off the bat.

Sherri: Well, right... Yes.

Brant: Okay, so there's that expectation issue. We only we're going to spend $300 and that's it, or whatever. Right? Because there's this linear progression. Now you got these yellow arrows pointing you, go here, go there. We have to walk past all this stuff together. At whose pace?

Sherri: Oh good. Yeah.

Brant: Okay. So again,

Sherri: I see it.

Brant: You're at on a good mood to start with. You're both excited about being there and then they take you through that thing. And then if there's any relationship left by the time you get to the bottom, it's a free for all for kitchen stuff, where spatula is and everything. And it's just, now we've lost, where are you? Don't know where you went. Why aren't you with me? You're not over there.

Sherri: And it's a warehouse.

Brant: And wrap it up with some Swedish cookies that we don't need, and then wait in line for a long time to sort it out.

Sherri: I promise you, I have never seen IKEA in this light.

Brant: Oh yeah, it is. Sherri: It's interesting. Brant: It is a box of discord. That's what, it's a giant box of discord, Swedish style with an Allen wrench.
