  • When Sickness Hits Your House (and Everything Falls Apart)

    Send us Fan Mail

Sickness in a house full of kids is… inevitable 🤍

And if you’re anything like me, it used to bring on so much stress and anxiety — especially when plans had to be cancelled and everything felt out of control.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing what happened in our home right before Easter break when the stomach bug made its way through our family one by one… and how differently I handled it this time.

    We’re talking about:
     • how I used to spiral when sickness hit
     • what shifted for me this past year
     • how we manage sickness in a big family
     • practical tips that actually make it easier (buckets, towels, simple meals + more)
     • and how to handle the disappointment when plans don’t go as expected

This episode is real life, practical encouragement, and a reminder that you’re not doing anything wrong when sickness takes over your home.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down and take care of our people.

  • Easter with a Big Family: Traditions, Faith & What Matters Most

    Send us Fan Mail

In today’s episode, I’m sharing what Easter looks like in our home as a big family 🤍

From Palm Sunday to Easter Monday, I’m walking you through the traditions we’ve built over the years — how they’ve changed as our kids have grown, and how we try to keep the focus on what Easter is really about in the middle of all the fun and chaos.

    We talk about:
     • what Good Friday looked like when our kids were little
     • how we created meaningful moments at home
     • the shift to attending church together as a family
     • our Easter brunch tradition (and all the food 🥐)
     • and the simple ways we keep pointing our kids back to Jesus

This episode is a mix of real life, family rhythms, and faith — and my prayer is that it encourages you to create meaningful moments in your own home this Easter season.

  • Staying Connected in Marriage While Raising Kids

    Send us Fan Mail

Last week’s episode about mom rage sparked so many honest messages from moms who felt seen and encouraged — thank you to everyone who reached out and shared your stories. If you haven’t listened yet, I would encourage you to go back and give it a listen.

This week we’re shifting the conversation to something that often gets overlooked in busy family life: our marriages.

When you’re raising kids, managing schedules, and juggling all the responsibilities of family life, it’s easy for your relationship to slip into the background. But strong families are built on strong marriages.

In this episode I’m sharing how Micah and I stay connected through different seasons of life — from when our kids were little and bedtime meant couch conversations, to now with older kids and busy schedules where sometimes connection looks like a Costco run together.

I also talk about the Alpha Marriage Course, why investing in your marriage matters, the importance of having friends who pray for your relationship, and four simple habits that help marriages stay strong.

Whether you’re newly married, raising little ones, or navigating the teenage years, this episode is a reminder that your marriage is worth protecting, investing in, and fighting for.

4 things to do for your marriage this week

    1.  Have fun together (laugh)

    2. Look in each others eyes

    3. Pray together

    4. Physical Touch.

  • When Mom Rage Shows Up

    Send us Fan Mail

Last week on the podcast, my friend Crystal and I talked about something many moms experience but few talk about openly — mom anger.

    And then… I had a moment.

After a full week of March break fun, exhaustion, noise, and overstimulation finally caught up with me. As we were packing up to leave our cottage, something inside of me snapped and I completely lost my temper with my family.

The drive home was quiet — and my mind was loud with shame, guilt, and the feeling that maybe I had no right encouraging other moms when I still struggle too.

But the Lord reminded me of something powerful I had done months earlier — burning a picture my kids once coloured of me as an angry, chained-up minion.

That picture represented a lie about my identity.

Yes, I have moments of anger.
     Yes, I still mess up.
But that is not who I am.

In this episode I’m sharing the full story — the moment at the cottage, the shame spiral that followed, and why repentance, humility, and grace matter so much in motherhood.

If you've ever felt like your worst parenting moment defines you, this conversation is for you.

    You are not alone.
And one hard moment does not make you a bad mom.

  • Snow Days, Small Groups & Surviving Motherhood

    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode, I’m sitting down with one of my bestest friends, Crystal — a woman I met 13 years ago when we were both stay-at-home moms with little kids.

With the “2016 trend” floating around social media, we started looking back at those early motherhood years — snow days, fancy hot chocolates, beach trips, small groups, and doing life side by side. And we realized something important:

    It wasn’t easier back then.
We just weren’t doing it alone.

    We talk honestly about:
🤍 Finding and pursuing real friendships
🤍 Mom anger and breaking shame
🤍 Marriage in the middle of motherhood
🤍 The pressure to compete with other moms
🤍 Transitioning from toddlers to teenagers (and adulthood!)

This conversation is for the mom in the trenches, the mom stepping into a new season, and the mom who sometimes wonders if the “good old days” are behind her.

    Spoiler alert: They’re not.

The good old days are happening right now too.

If this episode resonates with you, share it with the friend who survived snow days with you. And don’t forget to follow the podcast and leave a review — it truly helps more than you know. 🤍

  • A Recipe for Godly Parenting (Without the Perfect Mom Pressure)

    Send us Fan Mail

Parenting isn’t a recipe — but there are ingredients.

In this episode of Praise, Prayer & Protein, I’m reflecting on a powerful sermon we heard on Sunday about “A Recipe for Christian Parenting” and what it actually looks like in real life.

    We’re talking about:

✨ Direction & Devotion — why faith is more caught than taught
✨ Development & Discipline — loving boundaries and consistent correction
✨ Prayer & Proclamation — how we teach our kids to pray by modeling it
✨ Letting go of the “perfect Christian mom” pressure

If you’ve ever felt pressure to get parenting perfectly right… this episode is for you.

Parenting isn’t about raising perfect kids.
It’s about faithfully discipling them in your everyday life.

    Happy Family Day 🤍

In today’s episode, we’re talking about something that makes connection so much easier in our homes understanding your child’s love language.

Before we jump into family fun, I wanted to share how learning the five love languages for kids has completely changed the way we connect in our big family. When you understand how each child gives and receives love, it becomes so much simpler to love them intentionally — without feeling like you have to give everyone the exact same thing.

    We talk about:
     • The five love languages for kids
     • What each one looks like in real life
     • How love languages shift as kids grow
     • Why filled love tanks help kids thrive emotionally and relationally
     • How knowing your child’s love language makes discipline and correction easier

If you’ve ever wondered how to give your kids enough love and attention — especially in a busy season — this conversation will encourage you.
