A friend of mine asked me to say a prayer at his father's funeral.

Lord God, You are the Creator of the Universe and we acknowledge, that even in these difficult times, you are in control, of everything.

Even though we experience loss, we thank you for your comfort.

Lord if there are any who are suffering pain or grief, I pray that you would give them courage and the ability to trust you.

We trust you lord to fill any void, and any emptiness with your presence.

I pray Lord for all here, your children.  May we all continue to live our lives with purpose and meaning.  Heal our broken hearts Lord.  Remove doubt and pain.  Remind us of your sufficient grace.  We need you.  We need your strength.  Guide us.   Lord, we pour out our pain and grief to you and trust that suffering will end and that your love will conquer all.

Remind us lord of the joy, and hope, and the peace we have in you.

Lord you are the Great Shepherd.  Even when we don't know what to pray or how to pray.  You hear our cries and you care for us.

Lord grant us the knowledge of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Lord, lift up our eyes so that we may catch a glimpse of eternity, and be comforted by the promise of heaven.  The promise of your kingdom.

We ask all this in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus.  Amen

Listening to Jim Baker preach on becoming a Kingdom Wealth Builder, I finally figured out how to incorporate my passion and gifting into action.   I wanted to do something that was free for the audience, easy for me to fit into my schedule, and something that would allow me to use my  skills and abilities to help build  the  Kingdom of God.

I like listening to Podcasts, and heard that Anchor was an excellent resource.  I was thinking for a few months that I would like to use the ANCHOR app to start a podcast.  Thinking...  but not doing.  That's a problem.  Thank you Jim for encouraging me to step out in faith, take massive action, and put my passion into action.  My family and friends know that I am passionate about CBN radio.  It is free, it is easy, "Hey Google, play CBN Superbook Radio".  

I  am  thankful to those who have inspired me.  Thank you to the Pastoral Staff at Lakemount Worship Centre, Dr. Grant Mullen, Justin, Kevin, and Wes.  I thank the Lord for my wife who keeps me motivated.  I thank the Lord for my children.  God is so good.  He is amazing and I hope that your life becomes filled  with His Glory as He and His Kingdom are exalted.  He is worthy to be praised.  Amen.

Statement of Belief - I believe in the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.  I believe in the Trinity.  I believe that God is a loving father who is kind, loving, generous and full of mercy.  Jesus is God's only son, the Word of God, uncreated, Creator of all things.  Holy Spirit is our comforter, encourager, inspiration and guide.  I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.  The Word is alive and judges me.  I believe in the Old Testament value of Tithing.  Sowing and Reaping.  Seedtime and harvest.  God's abundance and my reliance on Him.  Wisdom is available by asking.  The  fear of God  is the beginning of Wisdom.  Wisdom is a person I invite into my life.

May God Bless you richly as you live and let him live through you.

How to:

Place the word of God where you can see it.

Write down the thought, write down a verse next to it.

If your negative thoughts have to do with your self (your flaws, your identity, etc.), then ask God to guard your mind and keep you centered on His truth (Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Peter 5:7).

If your negative thoughts concern others, pray for them (Matthew 5:44). Ask God to give you His love for them.

When you’re really wrestling with a sin or an issue, enlist other prayer warriors like the apostle Paul did (Philippians 1:19, Romans 15:30). After all, even Jesus requested the prayer of his closest friends when he faced the cross (Matthew 26:36-38)

Many times we need a combination of scripture, prayer, confession, accountability, and other practical helps to overcome our negative thoughts!

Lord, there is a lot of military language in the bible,  Your word mentions armor, strongholds, swords, warfare, weapons.  Paul speaks for example of taking thoughts captive.

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8

I pray Lord for discernment.  Give me wisdom Lord, to know what to do when I feel attacked.

By your divine power Lord, give me the mind of Christ, so that I may be obedient to you.  Lord, destroy in my mind, any proud arguments.

I submit all my thoughts, everything I think.  All my emotions and decisions.

I need you Holy Spirit to remove any deeply rooted thoughts that are against your will.

I am more than a conqueror

Jesus, you won the victory over sin and death

Lord, remove any strongholds that I may have built in my mind.

Jesus, you are  my standard, you are my banner.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. PHILIPPIANS 4:8 ESV

Transform my mind Lord.  Romans 12:2  Guard my mind Lord, keep me centered on your truth.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 2 CORINTHIANS 10:4 ESV

Jesus, only you satisfy.  Only you are the Truth.  Only you can set me free.  Jesus, I pray that you would open up your word to my mind.

Jesus you are in Heaven above.  I set my mind on you.  I have been raised to life with you.  Thank you Lord that you are seated at the right hand of God.

Holy Spirit, I know that you desire… help me to desire you with all my heart, strength, soul, and mind.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.  EPHESIANS 6:13-18 ESV

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.  HEBREWS 4:12

God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control”. -2 Timothy 1:7

“As a man thinks, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7.

Hide your word in my heart Lord.

The topic of money and possessions occurs in Scripture over 2350 times.  Jesus understood the importance of teaching his disciples about money and finances. Almost half of the parables are about money and possessions.

Jesus, You are my Redeemer.  I thank you.  I thank you for reaching out and saving me.

Lord, I want to grow as your disciple.

Psalm 24:1 says—“The earth is the Lord’s and all it contains.”

You oh lord are the owner of everything.  By your will and grace you have allowed me to steward part of your creation.  Help me to know your will and your desires as I steward your resources.

Jesus, this world promotes having lots of stuff.  I want an intimate relationship with you.  Lord you said the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.

Lord, if all money has a spirit on it. It is either your Spirit of God or the spirit of mammon. Help me Lord to remain vigilant against the spirit of mammon.

Jesus you experienced this temptation. In Matthew 4: 8-10 when the enemy offered you the kingdoms of the earth and their wealth, you quoted Scripture and responded that you would serve God only.

Jesus, I choose to serve you.  You are my Master.  You are my Saviour.  I trust in you.  You alone are faithful.

The rich, young ruler (Matthew 19:16-22) chose to trust in his own riches.  Lord, I don’t want to be a servant of money.  I want to be your servant.  I choose to serve you.  Help me lord to break off the spirit of mammon from my life.

Jesus, I confess there have been times when I struggled with money and possessions thinking that there might not be enough.  I might fail.  Forgive me Lord, for not surrendering my money and possessions to your Lordship and leading. Please forgive me for listening to the unholy spirit of mammon. Lord, I ask you to break that spirit off my family, my descendants, and myself.

Lord, I repent.  Forgive me when I have acted selfishly.  When I have coveted things and maybe didn’t even realize it.  Help me Lord to see that by acting that way I was actually serving another master.

Forgive me for trusting anyone or anything other than you.

Proverbs 3:5-10 says.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on our own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct you paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones. Honour the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine”.

God, I know you to be generous and extravagant.  I thank you God that you delight in blessing your children.

You are my Source.  I trust in you.

Wash me clean from any lingering influences or affects from agreeing with mammon. Set me free from any love of money rooted in my heart. Help me to walk according to your Word in the area of financial stewardship.  Holy Spirit lead me in how to manage money and possessions, wisely and generously.

Holy Spirit, I pray that you would reveal to me areas in my beliefs that are contrary to your will.  Lord, your word says (Jeremiah 17:9 & 10) “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.”

Show me lord; help me to know the motivations behind my behaviors.  Keep me lord tuned into your Spirit so that the spirit of this world or the spirit of mammon would not influence me.

Jesus, your word is full of examples of those who cried out to you.

Those who cried tears were many.   Some wept bitterly.  Some wept in anguish…  Some wept until you or your prophets healed their children.

You have compassion on all who cry out to you.

Lord, I come to you now and I confess that I am not as close to you as I would like to be.  Help me lord to open my heart.  Lord I am crying out you.  Have compassion on me.  Touch me and I will be healed.

Ecclesiastes 3:4  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Job 16:20 My friends scorn me; my eye pours out tears to God,

Jesus, you are the same, yesterday, today and forever.  You healed the lame, blind, deaf and diseased.  You are Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals.

Thank you for your mighty power. Jesus, you told your followers to heal the sick.  And to cast out daemons.  In order to establish your kingdom.  Lord I pray your kingdom come, your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Your word says that on earth as it is in heaven,  Lord there is no pain and no suffering in heaven

Give me the faith to believe for a miracle.  I need your healing lord in my body, soul and in my spirit.  But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Praying for God to Bless our spouse.

Jesus, I want to be successful in my marriage.  I want it to be fruitful.  Change me Lord and make me the man, the man you desire to be the head of this family.  I acknowledge that you the Sovereign Lord of the Universe and you are the center of my life and  my marriage.

Proverbs 18:22  He who finds a wife finds a good thing And obtains favor from the Lord.

I pray for insight and revelation for my marriage.  Give us your vision for our marriage. Mold us  together lord into the couple that you desire us to become.  Thank you lord that you have given me fresh revelation regarding my marriage.
