The Church here in the US has, for the last 350 years, have been stuck believing "everything should go well for a Christian, all Christians will have wealth, health, be accepted and comfortable. Tell everyone this is what they get when they become Christians." Being a "Servant" was not taught.

There is NO such thing as darkness. It is just a measure of the amount of light that is present.

There is no such thing as "cold". Temperature is a function of the lack of heat. There is no such thing as darkness. It is the function of the lack of light.
