I prayed really hard for the life I had in Nashville. But I also prayed really hard for the life I have now.
This episode is about looking back with gratitude, grieving who you used to be, and realizing that God was preparing you for who you are today.
Maybe you’re not meant to go back. Maybe you’re meant to keep becoming.
No one tells you how to navigate grief, especially when you lose someone so special. In this episode, I’m sharing about my Papa, the last conversation I ever had with him, the anger and confusion I felt after he died, and the years I spent absent from God.
But even though I left Him, He never left me.
Grief never really leaves us. Neither does the love we carry or the God who carries us through it.
What started as an episode about navigating life through anxiety, anger, change, and big moves turned into a moment of reflection and the realization that God was always there.
Even when I couldn't see Him, He was there. In the church pew on a hard Sunday. In an opportunity that I almost ignored. A closed door that was instantly followed by another one opening. And in the people who reminded me who I was when I had forgotten.
For years, I was always chasing the next best thing. Turns out, I was really chasing the feeling of being awake in my own life again, and realizing that peace is priceless.
I was praying for the trees. God was preparing the forest.
My Nana always asked me one question when I came to her with a problem: “Have you prayed about it?”
At the time, it drove me crazy. Now, it's the reason behind this podcast. In Episode 1, I'm sharing the story behind Pray About It Anyway, the many emotions I've brought to God, and why your prayers don't have to be perfect to be heard.
