This prayer is focused on ending racism and prejudice and to take a deeper look at ourselves and feelings. We are all made in the image of God. (Genesis 1:27 God created mankind in his image).
Let's take a moment to reflect with God:
- Am I able to confront my own prejudice and not hold it against a child? For example, maybe this student is a sibling of a former student and we have preconceived ideas about how this child will behave based on their siblings past behavior before knowing how this child will respond in class.
- Do I make judgements about a student based solely on information from past teachers?
- Do I make assumptions about different races?
Dear Lord, Please guide me to do better in my teaching for my students and not to hold any prejudice against anyone but to see your face in every person that I meet. Amen
