What is discipleship and how does it work? Being a disciple means that you are sharing what you know about Jesus to others. We first hear the word disciple in the gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and was modeled by the twelve chosen by Jesus. Jesus was the teacher and the disciples were the students.

 Today we model what church and small groups looks like, but we are called to do more.

Discipleship can be is a one on one conversation or interaction, it does not mean that you are always sharing with the masses.

Who are you pouring into today? Who are you growing with?

We all have a part to play.

Who defines what is bad and good and how does that define how we view the Christian culture? This ties directly into morals beginning with the Ten Commandments. God uses the word good seven times in the creation story. In Hebrew the word good is ‘tov’ showing that God created everything to be good.

God as Jesus’ father had to watch his son who was perfect be crucified on the cross. If anyone can understand what this feels like it is God. Jesus was good and perfect and he continually went through trials and tough times throughout his time on earth.

Maybe instead of casting blame, we need to ask the question “I’m going through this circumstance, what can I do about it?” There is no promise that you are going to have an easy life as a believer and It is not in God’s character to punishment – which is what is often believed. When you are tested or have bad circumstances it is not because God is punishing you.

How do we help others during a hard season? Be present.

The trinity was first mentioned right in the first few verses of Genesis with the mention of God and the Holy Spirit, but it’s not until John recounts the creation story in the New Testament do we see that.

What does this mean for us and how do we better understand it? Who do we pray to… Jesus, God, Holy Spirit, or all of them?

If we believe that everything in the Bible is true then how to put that into action and live differently and how does this change our relationship with God?

It all points to a relationship with God!
