Come, holy spirit, I ask that you would help me to let go of selfish reasons for doing things: leaving a conversation when it's no longer interesting to me.. Being part of something, if there's something in it for me. Doing something because it's convenient for me.

So much of my life is still mired in that, in the way I think and my habits, But sometimes by your grace, I do something for your sake, for the sake of someone else.

I ask that you would help me to do that more often. Show me the beauty of it. The goodness of it. Help me to notice the decisions I am making out of selfishness. help me to become aware.

Give me grace to. Let go. To let go of those desires. Help me to listen to your leading. Give me creativity in how I let go.. Whether it's stopping certain habits or starting new ones or taking a different way to work.

I ask for creativity and courage from you and your grace. and that you would help me to be patient and trusting to listen for you to guide me out of this mire and into the freedom of love. Amen.
