Come Holy Spirit,
Help Betsey to resist this desolation. This heaviness. This feeling that you are far away from her, she is abandoned by you. This lack of affection for you.
Help her not to accept it at face value. Help her to remember that.. the enemy is. always trying to twist it. To warp reality, to make you seem like you're not present. And you are.
Help her to intensely resist the desolation at its very beginning. Help her to insist on. asking you for help. on opening herself up to receive. your grace. on remembering the times when you have been faithful to her. on burying herself in the Scriptures. and pondering how you have been faithful. to all people. and the stories there. calling back to the things that are. true. That are beyond this current cloud that is over her.
Lord, let her not accept the desolation without. examining it, and asking, when did this start? What was it like before this? How long has this been going on? Lord may she reject the idea that this desolation is... something that has always been. and always will be. And this is just her life now.
Lord bring her to the Faith filled and even-keeled truths about this desolation that it did. have a start time, and it will have an end time.
Help her to resist it and. Healthy ways. with the fervent heart, Lord, even though her heart feels like it lacks all fervency. Help to cry out to you for help. Amen.
