Come Holy Spirit

I come to you in surrender thinking about how many times my thoughts and heart have been. shipwrecked on mystery and paradox.

and how my dualistic, rational mind. just struggles and cannot understand. those things, cannot understand You, first of all.

Life, death. suffering. Grace. Forgiveness, love.

So I come to you acknowledging these things are beyond me. I let go of the desire to try to understand them in a way that completely encircles them and explains them and makes them something that I have power over.

And instead, I come, I surrender to you, saying, I cannot. understand them. I desire to understand them in whatever way, you would have me understand them..

And I. open my hands, and I am ready to receive.

O Lord, My heart is not lifted up. My eyes are not raised too high. I do not occupy myself with things too great, too marvelous for me, but I have calmed and quieted myself like a weaned child. like a weaned child. Like his mother is my soul within me. (Psalm 131)
