  • Don’t be Open-Minded
This passage is a lot more meaningful if you can have a better understanding of the word for "sure" and the word for "simple". Sure is used by Paul and Peter in the New Testament and compared to their experience with Christ. The word for simple is actually a word that means an open-gate or door. And the image here is compared to our mind that has an open gate with no filter to keep things out or keep things safe inside our mind. In other words, don't have an open mind without filters or guards to keep bad stuff out, if you don't you are simple minded and you will have no discernment to guide you through the vicissitudes of life. The Word of God will give you the wisdom needed for life.

  • Becoming Like Jesus
Becoming Like Jesus Christ-Centered Faith: Becoming Like the One We Believe Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 8–10; Philippians 1:9–11; 1 Corinthians 13 This message emphasizes that authentic, Christ-centered faith is more than believing something about Jesus; it is believing Him in such a way that we are continually becoming more like Him. Everyone is becoming who and what they believe, and what they are becoming is eventually revealed in their behavior. Our believing should affect our becoming, and our becoming should manifest the fruit of the Spirit rather than the folly of a self-governed life. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 8, the message contrasts knowledge that puffs up with love that builds others up. Knowledge separated from love produces pride, frustration, and an exaggerated confidence in our own understanding. However, knowledge governed by love becomes a means of encouraging, strengthening, and helping others. Since no one knows everything about anything, believers must remain humble, teachable, and willing to grow. Philippians 1:9–11 provides the central prayer of the message: that our love would abound more and more in knowledge and discernment. The goal is not merely to know more but to love more wisely, recognize what is excellent, and live sincerely before the Lord. As our love matures, we become increasingly sensitive to what pleases the Holy Spirit and what grieves Him. When the Lord reveals attitudes, motives, or behaviors that are contrary to His character, we should respond with repentance and renewed dependence upon His mercy rather than defending ourselves. Through illustrations of overflowing water and balloons exposed to a flame, the message

  • God Doesn't Follow Customs
The sermon examines the genealogical records in Genesis 25 to demonstrate that God's sovereign plan consistently bypasses human custom and natural expectation to preserve the covenant line of promise. By analyzing the birth of Esau and Jacob, the message argues that divine election is not based on foreseen faith or human merit, but is a sovereign act that stands independent of works, as affirmed in Romans 9. The preacher challenges the church to abandon traditions that contradict Scripture and to find assurance not in religious pedigree or personal effort, but in the unchanging purpose of God. This theological framework is presented as a source of profound humility and comfort, assuring believers that their salvation rests entirely on God's grace and His ability to complete the work He began in Christ.

  • LORD, SET THIS CHURCH ON FIRE AGAIN!
LORD, SET THIS CHURCH ON FIRE AGAIN! Luke 24:49; Acts 2:1–4; Acts 18:24–28; Proverbs 26:20 (KJV) What happens when a church has beautiful buildings, powerful technology, and countless activities—but has lost its spiritual passion? In this Friday Night Fire message, i want to calls believers to rediscover the power of the Holy Spirit, the necessity of personal holiness, and the urgency of sharing Jesus Christ with a lost world. Drawing from the Day of Pentecost, the example of Apollos, and biblical warnings against gossip and division, this message examines three vital needs: the fire that ignites the heart, the fire that purifies the life, and the fire that spreads through the church. With a special emphasis on prayer for the sick, encouragement for struggling families, and compassion for the lost, this sermon challenges every believer to move beyond religious routine into a life of genuine faith, obedience, and service. We don't need more religious activity without spiritual power. We need hearts surrendered to Jesus Christ!

  • Jessica's First Prayer - 1867
"In the heart of fog-bound, 19th-century London, a neglected and starving young street urchin named Jessica wanders up to a morning coffee stall run by Daniel Standring—a hardened, self-interested man who secretly keeps the keys to a prosperous chapel. Drawn by a rare gesture of kindness and a warm cup of coffee, Jessica quietly follows Daniel into the grand, empty church, where for the very first time she hears the Gospel message and offers a simple, sincere prayer from her heart. What begins as a starving child's search for food transforms into a deeply moving story of redemption that utterly upends not only her own life, but also soft-hearted Daniel's, proving that the most earnest faith can shatter the hardest hypocrisies. I am thrilled to bring this forgotten masterpiece out of the archives and present my full audio narration of Hesba Stretton's Jessica's First Prayer."

  • Exchanging the Glory of God
Romans 1:21–23 exposes humanity's refusal to honor God, give thanks, and worship Him as Creator. Dave Jenkins examines how sin darkens our understanding, turns claims of wisdom into foolishness, and leads us to exchange God's glory for created things. This study calls us to repent of idolatry and look to Jesus Christ, who perfectly honored the Father, died for sinners, and rose again to bring us back to God. • True Rest
This devotional explores the concept of true spiritual rest, distinguishing it from worldly comforts or financial security. It argues that genuine peace of mind is not found in human effort or moral performance but is rooted exclusively in the finished work of Christ. The message addresses two common sources of anxiety: the fear that good works are necessary to maintain God's favor and the doubt that one's salvation is insecure due to ongoing sin. By emphasizing that God's love is immutable and that believers are held securely by the Father, the sermon encourages a confidence that flows from faith in Jesus rather than self-assessment. This assurance ultimately transforms the believer's approach to prayer, allowing them to come before God with humility and trust, knowing they are heard and loved regardless of their daily failures.
