  • Hope Beyond the Grave
1 Thessalonians 4:13–14 speaks to one of the deepest pains we experience as human beings—the loss of someone we love. Paul does not tell believers that we should never grieve; rather, he reminds us that our grief is not supposed to be without hope. There are moments when death leaves an empty chair, a silent room, and memories that bring tears to our eyes. But for those who have placed their faith in Christ, death is not the end of the story. We may cry, we may miss our loved ones, and we may feel the pain of separation, but we do not grieve like people who have no hope. Our hope rests in Jesus Christ, who died and rose again. The message of these verses is simple but powerful: because Jesus lives, those who belong to Him will live again. The resurrection of Christ is not merely a historical event; it is the foundation of our hope when we face death. When a believer dies, we may see their body laid to rest, but we trust that God has not forgotten them. One day, the separation will end, and those who have died in Christ will be raised. Therefore, the church must learn to face sorrow with faith, funerals with hope, and tomorrow with confidence. Death may separate us for a moment, but it cannot separate us from the promise of God. In Christ, the grave is not our final destination—resurrection is.

  • Devo 111B: God's Silence
This devotional explores the challenging spiritual discipline of stillness, drawing primarily from Psalm 46:10 to encourage believers to release their anxiety and trust in God's sovereignty. It highlights the theological distinction between silence as an absence of response and silence as a profound sign of divine intimacy and confidence. By referencing Oswald Chambers, the message emphasizes that true prayer seeks the glorification of God rather than immediate personal relief, leading to a deep assurance that He has heard and will act according to His promises. The tone is pastoral and instructive, guiding the audience to move from agitation to a resting peace that acknowledges God's exaltation and judgment of the nations.

  • Conversing with God

Our lives has to flow into His, becoming one with Him, His thoughts becoming ours. Meditating on His word, speaking those things which become sound doctrine.

  • Devo 111A: More Prayer Insights
The devotional emphasizes the necessity of shifting the focus of prayer from personal needs to the exaltation of God, drawing on Psalm 66 to illustrate that God listens to those who approach Him with a heart free of cherished iniquity. It argues that true prayer involves high praises that lift up God's character and glory, a practice that enriches the believer's spiritual life and aligns with the intent of the Lord's Prayer. The message encourages believers to examine their hearts before praying and to cultivate a posture of worship that centers on God's person rather than their own circumstances. By prioritizing the glory of the Father, Christians can experience a deeper intimacy with God, similar to the cherished relationship described in the context of long-term marriage.

  • ... Nevertheless...
This sermon examines Christ's prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane to illustrate the necessity of surrendering personal will to God's purpose in evangelism. The message emphasizes that effective ministry requires a life of earnest prayer, seeking God's specific will through obedience and fasting, and embracing the reproach of Christ as a living sacrifice. By contrasting the impossibility of the Great Commission with the power of faith, listen along as Brother Josh Hower encourages believers to overcome practical limitations and spiritual apathy. The tone is convicting yet comforting, highlighting God's compassion and the enabling strength He provides to those who trust in His sovereignty. Ultimately, the sermon calls the church to adopt the attitude of 'not my will, but thine be done' in their pursuit of souls.
