God’s prosperity plan is good, pleasing, perfect and eternal. Yesterday, we talked about the goodness of God’s plan where we declared that it’s all good! We know this to be true because all things work together for our good because we love Him and He made us with purpose (Romans 8:28). Today, I want to speak to the pleasure that’s found in God’s plan. For many we have developed mistaken perception of who God is and the energy that surrounds Him. We’ve developed this image of Him being a cold-hearted dictator that’s ready to strike down every human at the first sight of sin when this is absolutely not true as we know His response to sin was love shown through the sacrificial giving of His son as payment for our sins. But to speak further to the heart of the Father and the energy that saturates His presence, the word that best describes this is pleasure.
It’s pleasurable to be in the presence of God, there’s literally no better place to be! In the 16th Psalm, David describes how he has complete trust in the perfect will of God and in verse 11 he describes what we find in the presence of God. “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Before we get to the presence of God, I want you to know that as you submit to the perfect will of God, He will make your path clear to you for life, He gives us clear vision, direction and strategy when we submit to his good, pleasing and perfect plan. But there in His presence, we find something wonderful, it’s called joy! There’s joy in the presence of God! And there’s joy in following His plan! When we follow the plan of God we experience joy like none other! It’s exhilarating to follow His plan and reap His reward! So don’t allow anyone or anything distract you from His plan! It doesn’t compare! There’s no comparison to the plan of God and the joy that comes from it.
Now that’s not it, there’s something else that’s always right there with Him. David said there’s pleasure at the right hand of God. One thing about it, God’s right hand has to go with Him, everywhere He goes. So that means where ever God is, there’s pleasure there as well. So understand that the will of God will bring pleasure to your life. For some reason we think that when we submit to the will of God that it’s going to bring sorrow, it’s going to bring frustration, that we’re going to lose out on something ¬– we have the fear of missing out. It’s not about the fear of missing out but it’s about the glory of what’s coming in my life.
You see when we submit to the will of God, you experience pleasure like nothing else in this world. There’s no alcohol that compares to the pleasures of God! There’s not a weed that can be smoked or a blunt that can be lit that compares to the pleasure that’s found in God. There’s no sex that can be had – I know I’m getting deep today but there’s nothing that compares to the pleasures of God! There’s not a thing that can be injected into my veins, there’s not a pill that can be taken, there’s not a woman that can lay in my bed that can compare to the pleasure of God! That’s why we submit to, enjoy and embrace the perfect will of God because there’s a pleasure like none other!
