Prayer: Do You Love God?
“If you love me, obey my commandments.”
— John 14:15 (NLT)
Love for God is more than feelings, words, or regular church attendance. Church is important—it’s where we gather to worship, hear the Word, and encourage one another. But showing up on Sunday is not the final proof of our love for Him. Jesus makes it clear: real love is revealed in obedience.
Many of us know about God because we attend services, listen to sermons, and participate in church activities. Yet Jesus calls us to something deeper. In John 8, He says that if we are truly His disciples, we will remain in His teachings. That means opening the Bible for ourselves, learning who He is, and allowing His Word to shape how we live every day.
God is not just looking for outward sacrifice or religious routine; He is looking for hearts that trust Him enough to obey Him. As we read His Word and follow His commands—loving others, forgiving, walking in truth, pursuing holiness—His light shines through us.
So as you pray today, ask yourself honestly: Do I truly love God? If the answer is yes, then let that love be seen in a life of obedience to His commandments.
