“Christmas is sleigh bells. Christmas is sharing. Christmas is holly. Christmas is caring.” At least that’s what Percy Faith once wrote. In his not-so-familiar holiday song, entitled, Christmas Is, he tried to capture some of the things that make Christmas, well, Christmas. The sights, sounds, and feelings – apparently that’s what Christmas is. And most would agree.

The situation around the coronavirus gives us a greater understanding of how the disciples must have felt on Easter Sunday. Just as Jesus' arrival brought about a change for them he brings a change to us today.

How will we win our friends, family, and neighbors for the Lord?  Not by telling them what they need to do things differently in their lives or tell them what they are doing wrong, But by the doing what Jesus said to do, Love others as well as you love yourself!

If you want your life to be "fixed" so that everything is easy and pleasant, see a shrink. But if you want to be a disciple, come to Jesus!

As Christians, our faith focuses on what God did long ago and will do in the future. But an experience of the Holy Spirit is a taste of what God means to us here and now, deep in our hearts.  Some of us might have trouble believing that the big, eternal God, would ever even notice little old me.  But Paul, right from the start of his letter to the Ephesians, emphasized that God had chosen them to be his.
