We consider the rich young man's dissatisfaction with doing good deeds so as to pray about how God wants us to "enjoy" the Christian life he calls us to. Also, the example of the Prodigal Son's older brother shows how an inability to enjoy God's mercy separates us from him, and from the true Christian life that we are called to live.
