Praying for the Holy Souls is an important part of our Catholic prayer life. The lack of pastoral emphasis on this necessity does not do away with this realm where the Suffering Church is being made perfect in love. Nor does it cancel the necessity and importance of our prayers for our dearly departed once their physical life on earth has ended.
