Step 8 we became willing to make amends to those whom we have harmed. We are making a list in step 8 getting ready for step 9. 

We cannot have forgiveness without being willing to make amends.

Step 7 we are asking God to remove our shortcomings. 

God is the healer, If we confess our sins; God is Graceful, and Just, to Forgive us our sins.

Paul gets into and out of trouble several times on the wya to Rome. Exciting is this chapter, Paul has to pull off some 

amazing things that only God, could have helped him through.

Step 6 we are entirely ready for God to remove our defects of character.
