Preach the Word!

The best kind of boasting is the kind that points to Jesus. The apostle Paul learned this through his thorn in the flesh that caused him to rely on Christ all the more. And the more he relied on Christ, the more everyone could see Christ. That was a reason for boasting, as he was […]

God never ignores sin. The sin we so easily ignore is known by God. He will deal with it. The only question is how. Will we wait for God to confront and expose us? Or will we humbly run to God, confessing our sin, trusting in His goodness and grace through Jesus? iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/preach-the-word/id1449859151?mt=2 Spotify: […]

Anyone can fall into sin, no matter how mature he/she may be, no matter how long he/she has walked with Jesus. The moment we take the grace of God for granted is the moment we make ourselves vulnerable to temptation, just as David did with his many sins against Uriah, Bathsheba, and most of all, […]

Not by jumping ahead to Solomon or Jesus, but by showing hints of it through the initial archetypal king of Israel, David. David is shown acting in God’s might, mercy, and judgment, just as would the […]

Because of the false teachers received by the church of Corinth, the Corinthians had trouble recognizing Paul’s apostolic authority. But it wasn’t so much about Paul as it was about the gospel. We do not provide for God; God provides for us. Anything we do for the Lord is a response out of what He has already done for us. And what has He done? He has given us Jesus, according to His promise. All we can do at this point is respond to God’s gift, believing […]

Although no one wants to go to battle, some things are worth fighting for. The good news is that God equips us for battle through His Son Jesus Christ and through God the Holy Spirit. If we were to face these things in our flesh, we would fail; when we face these things in the […]

We cannot worship the Lord rightly until we fear Him properly. A true fear of God will cause us to seek the mercy and grace of God through Jesus Christ.
