Is the work of the Spirit a one and done experience that happens at conversion or is there a greater filling after having believed?

They don't believe in Jesus and accuse Stephen of being against the temple and its associated practices. He shows them clearly from Scripture that Jesus is the One whom the prophets spoke of, and that it is they who speak against the temple! "He who slaughters and ox is like he who kills a man."

This helps understand what they misunderstood and how we easily misunderstand today, and do the same things that they did.

The story serves in seed form as a paradigm of the rest of the NT. Some preview of church offices, the importance of complement rather than competition in the body of Christ!

God doesn't invest in things without any desire or expectation of return. He wants his crops to bear fruit, His people to be filled with the fruit of the Spirit!

Jesus is worthy of everything, even suffering...
