QUALITIES OF DIVINE WISDOM – PART ONE
“But the wisdom that is from above (that is the wisdom from the throne of God, the wisdom from the Spirit of God Himself) is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” James 3.17

It tells us about this supernatural wisdom, spiritual wisdom, this wisdom from the Spirit of God. Not like the wisdom of men that falters, the wisdom of men that darkens their understanding, the wisdom of men that makes them appear foolish in the sight of God; “Thinking to be wise they become fools” because in their folly, their hearts have been darkened in the emptiness of their wisdom.
This wisdom from the Spirit of God tells us about the qualities of that wisdom and how the Christian should live, interact and deal honestly with the people around them.
First it says that this wisdom is PURE! Not impure; for it does not lead us to impurity, it doesn’t lead us to pollution, it doesn’t lead us to evil, and unrighteousness.
The Spirit of God leads us with the wisdom that is first PURE. In all honesty, will you say ‘I have prayed to receive this kind of wisdom?’ well, you need more because;
More challenges will come
More people will cross your way
They will accuse you falsely
They will try to oppress you, deprive certain good things of life from you.
You need more of this wisdom that is pure. Keeps you pure. Keeps other people pure. And everyone that interacts with you becomes purer than they meet you. That is because you allow the pure wisdom of God to have authority in;

How you do things
That is the wisdom of God that your life makes people pure. Makes people purer than they were before they met you. Will your meeting with others cause a negative impact on their lives? Such can only happen when the wisdom of God is not there; pollution of mind and thoughts becomes prevalent. The wisdom that makes you purer and purer every day! It says;
“But the wisdom from above is first PURE…”
That is the first thing to be notice in the life of a Christian that have wisdom from above. Because you can notice that this man, this woman, this boy, this girl, this minister, this preacher has wisdom that keeps him pure, that keeps her ministry pure, and keeps everything that he does pure. She is more purer than we first knew her; that is wisdom from above.
Secondly, the wisdom that comes from the throne of God, the Spirit of God is then PEACEABLE! This wisdom doesn’t leads us to being angry, fighting, violent, and quarrelling. Rather, it is the wisdom that enables us to follow peace with all men.
The wisdom that makes the husband to follow peace with his wife and the wife to follow peace with the husband. The wisdom that makes the head of the organization pure and peaceable with all the people working and living with him in the house.
The wisdom that makes you peaceable with your father in-law, the wisdom that makes you peaceable with your mother in-law, the wisdom that makes you peaceable with your colleagues in the office, customers in your business place.
The wisdom that makes you peaceable with everybody around; and the world that rushes on will turn and say ‘he is a man of peace, she is a woman of peace…he is a possessor of peace, peace runs through his heart. Peace is seen in his dealing with neighbors and friends around. He is not boisterous, and oppressive.
The wisdom we are praying about and we should yearn for is the wisdom that is pure, peaceable and gentle. Will you reflect this pure, peaceable and gentle wisdom at home today as a husband, a wife, a child, a friend, a colleague, associate, and brethren? Pray more for this wisdom this morning as you walk and work the talk.
