Today we hear about the solemn birthday of Herod which resulted in the death of John the Baptist. We discover that Herod would gladly hear John preached, just as many people who attend church are happy to hear the Gospel message. However, we discover that those Gospel message opportunities would end for Herod with the death of John the Baptist. It is a solemn reminder that we will not always have the opportunity to hear the Good News, so today is the day of Salvation, do not delay or wait to repent, believe and follow Jesus.
