  • Breaking Generational Curses
I have often heard individuals say, " I am blessed and or highly favored." However what does that really mean? Blessings is defined as God's favor or a person's sanction or support. When God looks down upon an individual and protects them. A curse on the other hand is expressed as a wish that some form of adversity or misfortune will befall or attach to one or more persons, a place or an object.
Today's show is designed to talk about generational curses. It appears that individuals as a human being are creatures of habit. DNA is real. Gererational curses is defined as behaviors that one adopt because of the evironment one was brought up in. It also describes the cumulative effect on a person or things that one's ancestors did, believed, or practiced in the past and a consequence of an ancestor's actions belief and sins being passed down. Can such be broken? Let's talk about it. I want to hear your thoughts as it relates to generational curses as well as prayers to breaking such generational curses. Live 11/9/21 at 11:30am Pacific. • Enabling Adult Children
When your child becomes an adult such should transition into a beautiful relationship. However many parents have no idea as to how to parent their adult child. Many parents are finding themself in this situation. Yes maturity and lack of maturity can play a part. And yes rent is much higher than what it was over 20 years ago.
It has been said that many adults age 18-24 live with their parents. Now 13 percent of adults ages 24-35 also reside with their parents. Situations may vary. However as a parent are you enabkling your adult child?Do you know the signs of an enabling parent? Do you have an overly dependent adult child? Are you helping or hurting your adult child? Often anxiety, fear, guillt, culture, and unresolved family issues can play a part. There is also something called, " Enabling Mother Syndrome." But what about fathers that enable their daughters or sons?
One may question why is enabling your adult child a bad thing especially if you are able to help your adult child? Let's talk about it.
We must stop enabling our adult children as it stops them from doing what they may be able to do for themself. Such can lead to entitlement issues, resentment, disrespful behaviors, emeshed relationships. Some parents will also later feel like a prisioner in their own home. It can also lead to relational discord with one's spouse or partner. I want to hear your thoughts. Live 11/8/21 at 12pm Pacific. To join in on the conversation call 516 387-1914. If you are not available you can also click on the link to listen at a later time. Also share with others. Let's hold our adult children responsible and accountable. Let's start setting boundaries. • Turning From Your Wicked Ways
When is enough enough? As I sit here watching and listening to things that is happening all over the world as well as in the home of others it is time for individuals to turn from their wicked ways. However what does that mean to you? Our wicked ways according to the scripture are hating and ignoring. This means we make time to spend quality time with God in prayer and in the word. 2 Chronciles 7:14 states "If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, as I live saith the Lord God. I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Isreal?
When one speak of wicked such refer to being evil or mischievous by nature. It is considered as evil or morally bad in principle or practice.Question is can one really turn from their wicked ways? Lets talk about it live 11/2/21 at 11:30am Pacific. to join in on the conversation call 516 387-1914. Hosted by Jeanette Abney LMFT.

  • Critical Race Theory
What do you know about critical race theroy? This is a question that one must really ask themself. This topic was brought to my attention as I was watching television and learned that a principal was in trouble with his school district as it relates to what he was teaching the children at his school. Interesting part was his race and the fact that he had biracial children. While watching television I learned that such is banned in several states. The explanation given and the response at the school board meeting sparked my interest as this was the first time I had ever heard of critical race theory. Not to mention that we as parents are responsible for teaching our children as most of what they learn starts at home. Then to add to my knowledge I binged watched the Netflix movies Colin Black and White and Two Different Strangers which are a must watch.
Critical  race theory (CRT) is an approach to studying U.S policies and institutions that is most taught in law schools. Its foundation date back to the 1970's. When I approached others regarding this topic I received interesting reponses. This is a topic that must be discussed especially if such is being banned in several states yet many may have limited or no knowledge as to what it really means.
It is time to tell the truth. There is a difference between being racist, bias, rude, unaware or just not wanting to know. In order to change one's behavior one must acknowledge such behavior.  Respect is a must no matter one's race. Feelings can change. Learning and gaining an inderstanding about one's race and culture can change how one view and treat another. I am not saying we all have to be friends however respect can go a long way. Let's talk about it live 11/1/21 at 12pm Pacific. To join in on the conversation call 516 387-1914. What are you teaching your children. Let's talk about it.

  • Being Moved By Your Circumstance
Being moved by your circumstance can create consequences that could perhaps make your situation more painful or complicated. Such can also create more problems. With all that many are experencing and going through in life it has been said that I had to do what I had to do. I have hear that statement so many times in my life. As a young women I also believed such statement to be necessary and true. However did you take the situation to your heavely father first?  Millions of individuals all over the world today are depressed, anxious, frustrated, sick, broke and present as afraid or unhappy. In such times one will start to question where is God?
Join myself and others as we discuss " Being Moved By Your Circumstance." Just remember refuse to be intiminated by your circumstance. Your failures does not define you, your determination does. Psalm 46:1 say God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble or troubled times. Many of us have come to far to give up on God. Lets talk about it live 10/26/21 at 11:30am Pacific.
