Our podcast is designed to be insightful and helpful when it comes to planning your wedding. If you notice, there are many different parts to our podcast. Sometimes you'll hear us chat with a wedding vendor or venue, sometimes it's a couple who has already had experience in planning their wedding, and sometimes we will drop some quick tips to help you plan your wedding. We hope each of the elements helps you when it comes to planning your wedding!
This top tip is all about song selection. Let's face it. In today's world anyone could go download some music and call themselves a "DJ". So what really separates us from someone with a hard drive full of the same popular songs? Well, knowing when to play a song is also important, along with picking the perfect song that will mix into the next song (which we talk about mixing music in a previous episode). Anyone can play music, but we know when to play which songs and which songs can be mixed together to create the perfect moments.

We are actually shocked, and also honored that over the past few years a lot of our couples will ask us if our DJs can mix and quick seg from song to song. This is something we train all of our DJs to do, and it's something we know is vital and important that separates us from other DJs in the market. But for those who aren't familiar with mixing DJs, we break it down for you here on today's tip!
Kendra Martin is a dear friend of ours who found her love of photography at a very young age. When she doesn't have a camera in her hand you can find her enjoying time with her husband and children and jamming out to The Black Eyed Pies (more on that in this episode). Kendra is one of our highly recommended photographers when couples ask for referrals, and she's more than just a wedding vendor to us, she is considered like family. We sit down with Kendra to chat about where her love for photography began, what it was like being a nomad growing up, and how she fell in love with the world of weddings.
Also, we explain that Black Eyed Pies thing...

This top tip will level up your wedding ceremony entertainment! It is totally understandable that you hire us to play music for your ceremony and give us a playlist, and it's something we can easily do. But what if you leveled up your ceremony? Created something different? Doug McDonald is not only a DJ/MC on our staff, but he is also our talented live musician. His guitar and vocals will set your wedding ceremony apart from everyone else's. Ask about Doug McDonald!

This top tip is super helpful and is another sometimes overlooked when hiring your entertainment! What is a party without lighting? It's not really a party, is it? Lighting and music go hand in hand. For decades lighting has played a role in how we react to a song, or a band on stage at a concert. When a band or a singer is performing on concert, and they hit a strobing effect at just the right time, it hypes the crowd and elevates the experience. Having this type of lighting at your wedding is no different. By the end of the evening we want your entire crowd to feel like they are living the concert experience at your wedding.
