Rick is a former chartered surveyor who decided to leave his career in 2008 and start a business! He now invests in Property in a range of different projects from standard Buy to Lets to Commercial to Residential Conversions! 

In this episode Rick goes into so much detail, covering a wide range of topics such as juggling property with a family, what a surveyor actually is, what they use to value a house and how you can get an accurate valuation. And he also goes into a good amount of detail on how to get on the good side of the valuer when remortgaging a property! 

Rick also talks about how he built a business during the 2008 credit crunch and how this could apply to Covid-19 for those who are just starting out in property. Finally he talks about Commercial to Residential conversions, exactly what they are, how to find them and how to determine whether they are a good deal or not!

This week on the podcast, we have Dan from DRD Fire and Security on the podcast to talk about the ins and outs of fire risk assessments exactly why you need them and where people get caught out.

We talk about all types of buildings from a commercial block of offices to a vanilla buy to let, what is needed for each to be considered safe, how long it takes to typically do a risk assessment and how to go about getting one done.
