Word and Songs | Preparation for Heaven

November is a great time to reflect on our life here on earth as a preparation for real life in heaven. It is written in the letter to the Hebrews, chapter 13, verse 14: “for here we have no lasting city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.” I am sure that in this health crisis we have come to realize more and more that our life has a beginning and an end. There is a time to be born and a time to die. A time to be welcomed on this earth, and a time to say goodbye. A time to be on this earth and a time to live eternally in heaven.

For Blessed James Alberione, heaven is a dimension of life, an ideal to be pursued, a source of energy, a space for creativity. And he suggests: “To keep the thought of heaven ever-present, let us make of it a powerful idea: our first thought in the morning, our first meditation in moments of silence, the first desire of the spiritual exercises, the first ideal to Christian life. He even says: “A great desire from heaven makes us feel the fatigue less and makes us work harder.”
