This week, we heard from Pastor Brad that our big truth is that Jesus came to deal with our sin by being our substitute. He read that in John 1:29, John the Baptist identified Jesus as the Lamb of God. He also read in Exodus 12 about the significance of the blood from the passover lamb, which saved the firstborn son of every door it marked. We know from 1 Corinthians 5:7 that Jesus was the Passover lamb, sacrificed for our own sins. Hebrews then tells us that all the sacrifices the priest made again and again were never enough, and that the perfect Lamb of God offered only one sacrifice for sins forever, and sat down at the right hand of God. Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, was a sufficient sacrifice then, now, and forever.
