“Wherever He Leads I’ll Go” starts with Jesus’ invitation to us. It shows His work and will in our lives as we follow. It reminds us of difficult days. It challenges us to make sure Jesus is Lord of our lives. And, all the while, we are challenged with, “Wherever He Leads, I’ll go.”

Today we are looking at a song that focuses directly on the message of Jesus Christ. It involves the most important life decision, and how you react to its message will directly effect the rest of your life and your eternity.

Oh for Thousand Tongues to Sing. How can we keep silent about the Glories of our God and King. Jesus is the Name that Calms our fears. Tis Music to this old sinners ears. He breaks the pow’r of sin over us and cancels its hold over ojr lives; Sets us free, His blood has made the foulest clean, Just look at me. Can’t you see the difference. I can never forget the day that Jesus washed my sins away. Cleansed and made me free Oh Blessed Be the Name of the Lord!

A song which emphasizes the fact that Jesus came to seek and save the lost is “Jesus Saves”.  There can be little doubt that this is a central message of the Bible, especially with the birth of Jesus.

“Faith Is the Victory” is a song which emphasizes the fact that the victory which overcomes the world is our faith. The text was written in 1882 by John Yates, who was born in Batavia, NY, on Nov. 21, 1837, the son of John and Elizabeth Yates, both of whom originally came from England to the United States.

Eliza Hewitt was born 1851 in Pennsylvania and grew up in the nurture of the Lord. A teenager during the Civil War, she graduated valedictorian in the Girl's Normal School. She had an unusual love for children, and after her studies she became a schoolteacher. Despite a terrible injury and long recovery that included six months in a cast, her loving heart still overflowed with joy. After a short walk, feeling the breeze, admiring the beautiful flowers, she was inspired to write the song, called “Sunshine in My Soul.” She applied the exhilaration of stepping out into the sunshine to the joy she found in fellowship with Christ.

“Just Over in the Glory Land” is a hymn that was written in 1906 by James Acuff. This song is a celebration of the home that the Lord is preparing for those that believe in him, a home where there will be no sickness, sorrow or affliction.
