PRESBYTERIAN on SermonAudio

Three things to note about our duty: It is a duty that is required. Both the Catechism and our passage in Micah say it is required. This ought to be obvious to you, but too often it is not. You are sorely mistaken if you think serving God is just a matter of personal preference.

Song of Solomon 5:2-8

This sermon uses the imagery of harvest and autumn to contrast the eternal mercy of God with the fleeting nature of human life. Drawing from Psalm 103, the message highlights that while God is merciful, forgiving, and loving, human beings are frail, made of dust, and subject to the sudden arrival of death. The preacher emphasizes that life is like a flower that blooms briefly before the wind of death passes over it, reminding listeners that their earthly existence is temporary and their place will eventually know them no more. Consequently, the central call is for individuals to prioritize their eternal destiny, ensuring they are saved and prepared to meet God rather than focusing on leaving a legacy in this world. The tone is urgent and pastoral, urging the congregation to trust in Christ for salvation before it is too late.
