In this powerful episode, you'll learn my experience as a child care teacher dealing with certain situations and how it feels to deal with these microaggressions. So, what do we do? I wanted everyone to share this for the leader who's afraid to speak out and doesn't know what to do. And for the teacher and other ECE professionals, being conflicted about this trauma that often happens but sometimes that's swept under the rug. But it's time to stand together, come up with solutions and be a village for each other. Greetings,
As a child, I feared math the most out of all my subjects. When I couldn't connect the dots, I had built so much anxiety around facing math. Despite, scoring my highest scores on the standardized math tests. Educating older preschoolers' math concepts, I made it my mission to create fun and engaging opportunities for kids. Â Once I begin to experience math in this play-based way and I was able to connect the dots as college math. I hope you take the opportunity to listen to my very personal and learn about my transformation as an adult learner embracing math again. Oftentimes, we know that the wages and salaries for child care teachers can be very meager. When the teacher cleans up his/ her classroom for the day and finished preparing the lesson plans and waving goodbye to the children. Does it ever cross our minds if they have a home to go to after pouring into little learners? Is there something we can do to support these teachers living in homeless shelters, transitional housing, or the threat of possibly being homeless? Besides writing Congress for the push for more livable wages, what initiatives can we start right from our centers? Let's band together and do something now! Working and advocating for early learners takes more work and commitment than anyone will ever know. An integral part of our field is the teachers. As a director or owner, sometimes you might wonder why you have such a high-turnover and sensing that you are missing the mark with your teachers. Certainly, we know that perfection does not exist in our child care centers, but if listen with a heart of trying to understand the resentment and frustration underneath of what's occurring. You might come to the conclusion that you can use new solutions to bring about greater change in your school. This podcast episode is not about pointing fingers or making someone feel bad about certain decisions that are taken place in our school environment. Yes, it's a take a village to raise a child but it's a village to sustain the villagers in our leadership. Throughout the many seasons of teaching, I've discovered that solo-teaching was not for me. I saw singlehandedly the benefits of educators establishing a community among themselves and encouraging each other. These other teachers have inspired me to become the very best version of myself and were a shoulder to lean on through the most difficult seasons. I'm glad that I've cross paths with these amazing individuals, this is my ode to them.https://linktr.ee/birthtolife5 https://blog.feedspot.com/early_childhood_education_podcasts/
In the second episode of the love series, I tackle how to develop an intimate friendship with your child. More importantly, we know all adults were children and children will become adults. I can't tell you how excited I am to launch this love curriculum series to share with my community. A few years back, I decided to evolve as a teacher and designed the love curriculum for my students because I wanted to deepen my relationships and build upon a solid social and emotional foundation. Not only did my lessons reflect the aspects of love, empathy, friendship, and care. But understanding why we respond the way we do in relationships and how to identify those triggers when certain intense moments happen. Throughout the love series, I will help teachers and parents to discover the untapped love language of your child and how to fill their love tank. I'm excited that you are embarking on this journey along with me. Don't forget to like, share and subscribe. https://blog.feedspot.com/early_childhood_education_podcasts/
