Beginning this week and continuing for approximately 12 months, a contractor working on the Bradshaw Ranger District will be using heavy equipment to thin approximately 6,400 acres of the Wilhoit mastication project. This project is being implemented under the Hassayampa Landscape Restoration Project. The project area is located on national forest lands north and east of Wilhoit, Arizona, south of Copper Basin. The contractor will start on the southern portion of the project area, near Forest Road 72, and move north and west.
