Beginning in January 2024, the Prescott Valley Police Department will be installing automated license plate reading (ALPR) cameras to reduce and solve crime within the town limits of Prescott Valley. The cameras are thanks to the Rocky Mountain Information Network, along with grants provided by the Arizona Department of Homeland Security and the Arizona Department of Emergency Management. ALPR cameras send a real-time alert to law enforcement when a stolen car or known wanted suspect from a state or national crime database is detected. They also send alerts if a vehicle associated with a local case, or a missing person...
