On today’s show I have with me Mohammad Aatish Khan & Snehal Verma co-founders of NatureDots where they are blending natural intelligence with artificial intelligence to create climate resilient sustainable fisheries. Their dream is to capture the pulse of all the water ecosystems in the World! Their hard-tech product AquaNurch® combines the power of ‘Nature-based+DeepTech’ for delivering end-to-end aquaculture solutions in emerging economies towards instituting climate resilient sustainable fisheries. Ensuring high revenue with ease to aqua farmers and healthy protein for all. You can reach them on https://naturedots.com/aquanurch/ & [email protected]

Our current economic model puts an unhealthy pressure on the fishing and aquaculture sector by pushing them to capture and produce as much fish as possible, as quickly as possible and for the lowest possible cost.

The collateral damage caused by Fishing and aquaculture on the environment is not a common knowledge! The way this industry is run today..leads to:

  1. Over-exploitation of targeted fish-stocks
  2. It Disrupts the ecosystems of non-targeted and farmed species
  3. It Contributes to marine/aquatic pollution
  4. Lastly..the machines used to catch, trade, auction and market these fishes run on fossil fuels which are finite in nature and in so doing they generate harmful emissions and a greater carbon footprint.
  5. Supporting local communities to design production systems that are regenerative by design and the ones that do not deplete fish stocks or damage aquatic ecosystems is the first step to building a circular fisheries economy. It will make fisheries activities and aquaculture more resilient, safeguarding the business for future generations.

So lets hear it from Aatish & Snehal on how they are driving this change in India!
