Mr. Thomas begins by sharing his research methods for writing his books, highlighting the usefulness of the Clerk's office vault. He then explores the events of the Lincoln County War and Billy the Kid's involvement in it. Following this, Thomas details Billy's upbringing and how he made his way to the Southwest. He goes on to address how modern stories often portray Billy the Kid as a criminal, while in truth, he was not what he seemed. Mr. Thomas also discusses Billy the Kid's trial and his experiences in jail. Finally, he delves into some conspiracy theories surrounding Billy the Kid's death.
