Phyllis J. Wilson served in the U.S. Army (Regular Army and U.S. Army Reserve) for more than 37 years. She has served at all echelons from tactical to strategic including more than seven years at U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, FL as a senior intelligence analyst supporting Information Operations focused on the War on Terrorism, deploying to Iraq in support of a highly specialized Joint Special Operations Task Force. She began her Army career as a Private and culminated her career as a Chief Warrant Officer Five. She was the 5th Command Chief Warrant Officer for the United States Army Reserve – an organization of more than 205,000 Soldiers. Phyllis worked as a Senior Military Fellow for the Chief of Staff of the Army’s (GEN Mark Milley) Strategic Studies Group and conducted independent, unconventional, and revolutionary research and analysis to generate innovative strategic and operational concepts for land forces in support of a governing theme provided by the Chief of Staff of the Army.

Effective July 1, 2018, Phyllis became the first Army Warrant Officer selected to serve as a member of the Association of the United States Army’s (AUSA) Council of Trustees. She joins GEN Ann Dunwoody, GEN Dennis Reimer, and Medal of Honor Recipient – MSG (Retired) Leroy Petry, to name a few. Phyllis is also a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Land Warfare.

Phyllis Wilson is the President of the Women In Military Service For America (WIMSA) Memorial Foundation, Inc. Located at Arlington National Cemetery, it is the only major national memorial honoring all women who have defended America throughout history from the Revolutionary War to today.
