Chris's 10 Things:

Total Surrender (to Christ)

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Complete obedience

1 Samuel 15:22 But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

Holy and Humble

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land

Total Dependence

Psalm 86:11 Lord, teach me how you want me to live. Do this so that I will depend on you, my faithful God. Give me a heart that doesn’t want anything more than to worship you

Debt Canceling

Colossians 2:13-14 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

Above Reproach

1 Timothy 3:1-3 Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.

Servant of All

Mark 9: 35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

Loves Well

1 Corinthians 13:4-6 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

A Story of Goodness

Psalm 27:13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Be a Bright Light

Proverbs 4:18 The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.

In Matthew 25:31-45, Jesus talks about his heart for us to treat even the "least" in our culture with love, respect, and service, just as Jesus Himself... in this episode, Jordy and Chris talk to Scott about some transitions involving new opportunities to reach new people groups with the love of Christ.

Is Sanctification (becoming set apart for God) a "one and done," or is it ongoing? Can we rest in what we did last week to prove our sanctified life? Many theologians say it is actually a mercy and blessing to have to cling to God ongoingly and seek him repeatedly in order to have the strength and mindset to be Holy. Listen in as we talk through what Progressive Sanctification means!
