Analysts labelled it one of the most important meetings in the history of the Federal Reserve, and the US central bank didn’t disappoint.

Overnight the ‘Fed’ cut official interest rates by a half of one percent, the first rate cut since March 2020, right at the start of the pandemic.

The cut comes as Australia’s central bank continues to ponder the next move on interest rates here at home.
