One of the greatest global health accomplishments of the last 20 years has been the progress in reducing the death rate of children under five years old. However, the death rate among newborns has not declined as quickly, due largely to the rising epidemic of preterm births. The panel discusses new tools and approaches to combat this problem in global and local settings.
