Prevention Profiles: Take Five

This episode of Prevention Profiles: Take Five kicks off our fourth season in a special way. We’ve invited five previous guests to come back on the show, listen to one of the questions we asked them in their initial interview, and then reflect on how that response may have changed over the past two or three years. Each of them also identifies a call to action for professionals working to prevent drug misuse among college students.

Dr. Nora Volkow, Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, returns as a guest to our podcast on this episode of Prevention Profiles: Take Five. During her interview, she talks about the increase in marijuana use among young people, college students and stimulant misuse, and the rise of substance misuse during the pandemic.

Miss America 2020 Camille Schrier is our guest for this month's podcast episode. Camille is currently pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University.

During the interview, she talks about her drug misuse prevention advocacy and her social impact initiative, Mind Your Meds: Drug Safety and Abuse Prevention from Pediatrics to Geriatrics; the importance of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day; and shares a special message to college students.

Dr. Allison Smith, Senior Program Administrator at the Louisiana Board of Regents, is our guest for this episode of Prevention Profiles: Take Five.
