Thanks for joining for the 4th episode, which is another interview! I had this interview with my friend, Zach Carlson, near the end of Pride month. Zach is a scientist who discusses his perspective of the navigating the working world as part of the LGBTQ community.
We discuss allyship, especially in the capacity of how they can assist with stopping microaggressions from other coworkers. We also discuss how employers need to prioritize team-building activities (both inside and OUTSIDE of work), in regards to creating workplace connections that would not have normally occurred otherwise. Lastly, we touch on how we can overwork to compensate for lack of control in our personal lives - not only in-relation to being in the LGBTQ community, but also as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which we can all relate to.
