In today’s world, we are witnessing a shortage of certain
medications that people are relying on for physical and mental health. One medication scarcity that is the limited supply of Adderall, which is negatively impacting folks diagnosed with ADHD.
Our society’s measure of success is based on how productive we are in our daily work. Naturally, this can make those who
struggle with mental health conditions, such as ADHD, have increased anxiety about their daily struggles. Impending deadlines and keeping track of multiple projects are difficult enough, let alone the fear of dealing with a boss or fellow colleagues who are not compassionate. This condition often carries a negative (and inaccurate) stigma of “laziness” or “lack of motivation.”
Lacey Reedy, an integrative health practitioner, is on the mic:
Our conversation is around this theme of focus and concentration. Lacey is here to offer potential solutions for combating symptoms associated with ADHD, such as brain fog and inability to concentrate.
**While these are NOT considered a replacement to a prescribed medication (they are only appropriate as an integration into your existing healthcare), we highlight the importance of simple - but essential - building blocks to keeping a strong mind and body, some of which we can overlook or neglect while taking a medication.
We focus on targeting the body and the mind, as well as helpful supplements and certain components in blood levels to discuss with your doctor - especially if you are finding that medications are not working for you, or your access to them is limited.
Even if you are not diagnosed with ADHD, we can all agree that this current world is extremely overwhelming at times, especially with so many things vying to grab and hold our attention! Some of these tips may resonate with/work for you, some may not - Take what works, and leave the rest. 😊
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: WE DO NOT SUGGEST that you disregard your healthcare provider’s professional advice regarding your prescriptions. The goal of integrative medicine is to INTEGRATE these practices into your existing healthcare, NOT replace them. The tips we offer are simple suggestions to try for yourself, and/or discuss with your doctor - They cannot count as a replacement of a medical prescription. WE ALWAYS RECOMMEND speaking to your doctor about any changes you intentionally plan on making to your health, both physically and mentally. We hope that this episode helps you facilitate this
conversation with your doctor and/or health practioner(s).
