To an outsider, mainstream surf culture looks very homogenous. Men with sun-bleached hair, long lean muscles, tan-- but not too dark-- skin. They hang out with hot girls in bikinis. They shred. They’re easy going, but aggressive. But like every seemingly heteronormative subsection of culture, there’s a queer side fighting against the currents of homophobia with all its might.
