Welcome to the worship service of Covenant Reformed Baptist Church in Easley South Carolina.

No matter where you are or what you have done, the High Priest and Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, has been perfectly fitted to your need. If you will come to Him, not as a decent person in need of a life coach to give some pointers, but as a ruined sinner in need of a new life, He will give exactly what is needed. He is the Priest who represents you and the sacrifice who took your place. He will take away the filth and despair of sin and guilt and usher you into the presence of God. He has torn the temple veil and unlocked the Holy of Holies. He will cause you to serve Him from the heart, today and forevermore.

The second grouping of good things that our Great High Priest brings to us through His life, death and resurrection is the power to live this life for the Glory of God. To be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Himself as He works in us… "for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13, NKJV) This empowerment has two main goals, our sanctification and our testimony… and what God gives us through Christ in these pursuits will accomplish all that He purposes!

Today Jordan Snedeker continues the series in Hebrews with versus 5-18 of Chapter 2. Why did Jesus have to put on human flesh and come to suffer? What were the requirements to bring many to glory? Did Jesus sin in the midst of His suffering? What needed to be perfected in Jesus that was not before He came to His creation to save it? Listen and be amazed at the mercy and grace of our God through His work of salvation. God bless!

The sermon emphasizes the believer's call to become a vessel of honor by departing from sin and remaining holy. Drawing primarily from Isaiah 52, the message contrasts the Old Testament priests who carried physical vessels with Christians who are now the vessels carrying God's presence. It urges listeners to possess their hearts in sanctification rather than succumbing to worldly lusts or nominal faith. The preacher highlights that true victory comes through continuous dedication and surrender to Christ, not merely intellectual assent. By living a life distinct from the culture, believers demonstrate the genuine fruit of the Spirit to a watching world.

This message points to the triune God, the cleansing power of Christ's blood, the believer's position as kings and priests, and the certainty of Christ's visible return. Before Revelation unveils coming judgments and prophetic events, it first presents Jesus Christ as eternal, risen, reigning, returning, and worthy of glory and dominion forever.
