Primum Deus

This podcast suggests that parents teach their children the three main uses of money, helping them to develop their first ideas of budgeting. The concept of 'Promise' (regular and systematic offering) is also revisited, and there will some suggestions about how to make the offertory an inclusive experience for children.  Pastor Bomfim also speaks of the importance of self-control, self-denial, a "saving mindset,"  postponement of gratification, and a simple lifestyle.

This podcast, the second in a series of four (2/4), is aimed at parents wanting to provide a Christian financial education to their children, and to prepare them to put God first in their adult life. It is also part of the Family Finance Seminar, presented by Marcos Bomfim, General Conference Stewardship Ministries Director.

Is there a Christian way to celebrate birthdays? What are the spiritual dangers of turning birthday celebrations into occasions for self-gratification and glorification of children?  Should they be praised just for being alive for one more year? How can families and churches use birthdays to guide people's minds in a spiritual channel? 

This podcast, originally presented in a YouTube video, will bring suggestions about how to glorify God in birthday celebrations, and how to bring the birthday offering. The content is presented from a Biblical perspective and is also based on Ellen G. White's writings. This is the third episode of the series "Family Finance - Teaching Children Spiritual Values". It is aimed at parents wanting to provide a Christian financial education to their children and to prepare them to put God first in their adult life.
