• Habit formation - habits are formed by repeating actions, which require self-control (temperance). Self-control is part of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
• Character is formed by the sum of habits:

“Character is the sum total of habits, formed by repeated acts.”— Child Guidance, p. 164

“By the repetition of acts, habits are established; and character is determined by the habits.”— Messages to Young People, p. 142

• It will require self-denial, which means doing things I don’t like. Not to be led by the flesh (Rom 8, Ps 51).
• Those who are led by their own inclinations, feelings, and senses are called sensual.
• I can only establish new good habits under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
